Hearts, Flowers and Valentines

Some of the Rutland Artists have got together for an exhibition at Catmose Gallery from  February 13th to 20th. As it runs over Valentine's Day, the theme for the show is Hearts, Flowers and Valentines. There's a whole range of artworks on display - all of them for sale - ranging from costume jewellery through ceramics to paintings. Of course, there will be some of my items there and I am busily getting appropriate pieces together to fit with the theme. It's quite a challenge to find something fresh, but I'm sure that there will be lots of different and stunning interpretations from the group.

Stamford Artisans Guild

Fell from Grace is proud to be a member of Stamford Artisans Guild, a non profit organisation for artisans and craftspeople within a 25-mile radius of Stamford in Lincolnshire.

Stamford Artisans Guild aims to help local artisans get more recognition within the community by organising craft events with two basic tenets:

 

  1. Everything on the stall must be hand-made by the vendor and
  2. Stallholders are from the local area

 

With their slogan  'Love What's Local' the Guild hope to rejuvenate the local craft scene by ensuring that their events feature genuinely locally made items of good quality at a fair price.

Started by three jewellery makers when the council-run Christmas craft fair was cancelled, the group stepped in, organising themselves into the Guild and organising the craft fair within a few weeks. The craft fair was one of the most successful craft events in recent years.
